










The Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung attended the ceremony of presenting 2022 China-Myanmar Friendship Educational Outstanding Awards held at the Mingalarthiri Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on August 27.
Also present at the ceremony were the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Cultural cultural attaché U Phone Kyaw, director general Dr. Win Tun of the department of higher education, rector of Mandalar University, principal of Yangon National Management Degree College, directors general from the ministry, responsible persons from the hoteliers association of Nay Pyi Taw, officials concerned and the students won the outstanding awards.
At the ceremony, the union minister extended words of thanks to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China cultural attaché and officials for their presenting educational awards to the outstanding students who are studying tourism industry major at Mandalar University and National Management Degree College with the aims at long lasting friendship relation between China and Myanmar and the cooperation in the tourism industry between the two countries.
The union minister added the ministry’s effort for opening B.A (Tourism) bachelor degree classes in Mandalar University and National Management Degree College since 2012-2013 academic year, sending the students excursion trips to the ASEAN and regional countries, youth experience sharing program, internship programs for the final year students, job appointment to them at the ministry, sending them to the long term and short term training and master degree courses abroad, opening of Chinese and Languages training courses aiming at the most prospective tourism market etc.
Next, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar cultural attaché clarified regarding with the presenting educational outstanding awards and the Union Minister Dr. Htay Aung awarded 10 students the educational outstanding prizes.
At the ceremony, totaling 20 million Kyats worth educational awards were presented to 40 students with half million Kyats per students.
Afterward, the union minister attended the ceremony of presenting honoring awards to those who passed 2021-2022 academic year matriculation examination outstandingly and providing educational support for the 2022-2023 academic year held at the Jade Hall of the ministry in the afternoon.
At the ceremony, the union minister gave the educational guidelines to the students, provided educational assistances and the director general of minister’s office U Hlaing Oo and director general U Maung Maung Kyaw of the department of hotel and tourism accepted.
Then, the union minister presented certificate of honor and cash awards to 3 students who passed 2021-2022 academic year matriculation examination outstandingly. Next, the directors general also presented certificate of honor and cash awards to those who passed the examination outstandingly. The deputy permanent secretary gave the awards of honor to the 8 outstanding students. One of the outstanding students extended words of thanks, it’s reported.
