Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a partly opened historical park dedicated to the Russian fleet, as part of Navy Day celebrations.

The construction work for the park called the "Island of Forts" in Kronstadt, was expected to be completed in 2025 and feature exhibitions dedicated to Russian naval history, as well as pedestrian promenades by the shore overlooking the Gulf of Finland. Putin was welcomed by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his daughter Ksenia, who is head of the project office for the creation of the Island of Forts Tourism and Recreation Cluster. The Island of Forts cluster covers an area of over 100 hectares (1 square km) and includes parts of nearby islands.
