Trump, tech leaders sign AI safety pledge

U.S. President Donald Trump and major tech leaders signed a joint commitment detailing four safety layers for frontier AI models.  A document posted by Donald Trump outlines a “Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities,” co-signed by leading artificial intelligence executives.

The agreement establishes four required safety layers for companies training and deploying frontier AI models: implementing internal alignment controls against threats like cybersecurity and biosecurity risks, empowering dedicated internal oversight teams, partnering with independent external auditors, and designating a board committee to oversee safety reports.

The document bears signatures from Donald Trump alongside top tech leaders, including Dario Amodei of Anthropic, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Greg Brockman of OpenAI, Elon Musk of xAI, and Jensen Huang of Nvidia.
