Seizure Of Illegal Timbers: Over 74 Tonnes Of Illegal Timbers Seized

The Forest Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation is implementing exposing and seizure of illegal timbers and timber products in various ways  including the Community Monitoring and Reporting System-CMRS through public  participation.

According to lists from the Forest Departments in Nay Pyi Taw, Regions and States, 27.32 tonnes of teaks, 21.01 tonnes of hard wood and 26.63 tons of other timbers, totalling over 74 tonnes, and 14 vehicles/machinery were seized as well as 18 culprits were arrested from 11th to 17th July.
