Education Sector: Workshop for higher passing rate of matriculation exam

A workshop was held on Saturday in Taunggyi for higher rate of passing the matriculation exam in the 2022-2023 academic year in southern Shan State.

During the opening of the workshop at the basic education high school No. 1, Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun said that in 2020, the passing rate was 26.28 percent and 41.1 percent in 2022. It was the 16 in the regions and states passing rate.

He called on concerned officials and teachers to make efforts for rising the passing rate in the 2023 matriculation exam and to apply what’s learnt in this workshop in teaching.

The Chief Minister also handed over 1 million Kyats provided by the Shan State Government for the workshop. The 2-day workshop on the 16th and 17th of July at the basic education high school No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 is being attended by 1,292 teachers.
