



The Ministry of Industry has been conducting training on knowledge of electrical safety measures.
On Friday, a closing ceremony of Basic Electronic Skill Training Course (1/2022) was held in Yangon on Friday. Union Minister Dr Charlie Than gave a speech, saying that 611 cases of electrocution occurred from 2017 to 2021.
Electricity operators are required to understand the procedures of the Electricity Law and the regulations on electrical safety. The qualification verifications have also been made for issuance of electrical skills certificates.
The Union Minister urged the trainees to apply the knowledge gained from the training in a practical work field for safety measures.
45 trainees attended the 8-week training which provides knowledge on electrical meters, stringing of power lines, electrical circuits, lightning protection grounding system, basic knowledge of transformer, AC-DC motors, sky power grid, basic concepts of elevators and escalators, and rules and regulations of Electricity Law.
The Ministry has already completed 45 Basic Electronic Skill Training, and shared knowledge to over 3,700 trainees from the departments and private sector. Moreover, over 10,000 electrical skills certificates have been issued to the ministries and private businesses.
