Preparations For Martyrs’ Day: Upgrading & Repairing Undertaken In Martyrs’ Mausoleum

For the successful holding of the 75th Anniversary Martyrs’ Day which falls on 19th July, preparations at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Yangon has completed cent per cent.

The preparation tasks for Martyrs’ Day celebration at the Mausoleum started on 1st June and the tasks have been undertaken by three phases, according to the official of the Engineering Department (Building) of Yangon City Development Committee.

Saw Naing, Deputy Director, Engineering Department (Building), YCDC said “The first phase is upgrading of Martyrs’ Mausoleum square and the second one is repairing water channels, walk ways and graphic boards in the compound of the mausoleum. The 3rd one is repairing of buildings, water channels and fences that are connected with the areas of Mausoleum. We started repairing tasks on 1st June. The three tasks have been conducted simultaneously and have completed 100 percent now.”

He said, they conduct upgrading and repairing works of the mausoleum for the Martyrs’ Day every year. Although the COVID-19 infection rate is declined in Myanmar, attendees to the Mausoleum on the Martyrs’ Day need to follow COVID-19 rules and regulations such as wearing masks, and social distancing at 6 feet away, the official added.
