Illegal Trade: Illegal goods, teak, timber, unregistered vehicle seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 9th of July, undeclared rolls of carpet and tyres, foodstuff materials and dried tea leaves without official documents, illegal teak and timber and an unregistered vehicle were seized at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) checkpoint and at the Latpanhla-Singu temporary checkpoint as well as in Kyaukmasin and Khapaung forest reserves and at Kyawbok checkpoint.

In total, on the 9th of July, illegal goods, teak and timber and unregistered vehicle worth over 28 million Kyats were seized on the 9th of July. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
