







The Myanmar Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Central) is providing the follow-up care for drug addicts in cooperation with the Department of Rehabilitation.
Arrangements are being made to open 3-month rehabilitation training courses after making discussions with the concerned officials.
The training will include the courses for physical and mental development and vocational education.
Chairman, Myanmar Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Central), San Shein said "The legal and business facts are discussed with the professionals for the mental development and we educate repeatedly the trainees about the disadvantage of the drugs. To have the physical development, 50% basic sports training courses of Myanmar Sports Federation are being conducted to the trainees."
Deputy Director, Rehabilitation Camp (Yangon), Khin Swe Hlaing said "The Department of Rehabilitation was established since 2018. The rehabilitation works are being undertaken for the newly trainees who had just stopped using drugs at the relevant hospitals and clinics. The training is 3-month period and the development of physical and mental training and vocational training will be mainly conducted within this period."
Rehabilitation works are being provided to the youths who are struggling to get back a normal life in the community and to be able to maintain the long-term drug abstinence.
Trainee said "I joined this rehabilitation camp with the help of Myanmar Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Central). I will return to home when I get back into normalcy. After coming here, I do meditation works and regular exercises everyday and I think I have improved a lot."
Across all part of Myanmar, the narcotic drugs have been spreading in a variety of ways, posing the greatest danger among the youths.
To prevent the young people from the danger of narcotic drugs, the educative talks have been conducted to raise awareness on the disadvantages of drugs and also the follow-up care is being provided by the relevant organizations to the drug addicts after they stop using drugs.
