Mandalay-Yangon Train Service: Train Ticket Fees Have Been Changed

Myanma Railways ticket fees, parcel transport rates and commodity freightcharges have been amended at the fixed rate from 1stJuly, according to official from Mandalay Railways Station.

The train ticket fee for the ordinary class of Mandalay-Yangon train is 7,750 kyats and the upper class is 15,450 kyats. The upper class with bed stand for a passenger is 21,250 kyats. The parcel freight rate is 51 kyats for one viss and commodity railway freight is 75 kyats for per viss.

The train schedule has not changed so far till now. No.4 down express train departs from Mandalay Railway Station at3:00 pm and No.2 down parcel train departs from Mandalay at 3:15 pm.

The official from Mandalay Railway Station said although the train ticket fees have been amended, the rates are more suitable than the local vehicle fees. If the passengers buy the train tickets by themselves, it will prevent from smuggling of train ticket. The train coaches are also upgraded for the convenience of the passengers.
