Illegal Trade: Timbers, Household Electronics, Vehicles Seized

The effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 4th July, an on-duty team confiscated 164 watches and a pair of Drone, GPS-Smart Drone without official documents which were hidden with languages at the Yangon International Airport.

Similarly, a patrol combined team captured 250 pairs of shoe and mobile phone accessories without any official documents at the Yepu  Permanent Checkpoint in Shan State. Afterwards, illegal timbers were confiscated in the East Yoma forest reserve of Sinbaungwe township of Thayet district on 4 July. On 5 July, the Mayanchaung  Permanent Checkpoint confiscated household electronics that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from a vehicle heading from Myawady to Yangon. In addition, the combined inspection team conducted the inspections under the Taninthayi  Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force. Officials captured illegal timbers in Bokpyin  Township, mangrove firewood (Madama) in Myeik Township and a motor boat and accessories in Kyunsu  Township. An unregistered Honda Odyssey car was confiscated on the Pyapon-Kyonekadun  Road in Pyapon  Township.

On 6 July, 21 car tyres of a Chinese brand that showed no declaration in the Import Declaration (ID) from a truck were seized at the Kawkareik  (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint in Kayin State. In addition, illegal teak, hardwood and other timbers were confiscated in the Bago and Toungoo districts.
