Livestock Breeding Sector: Mon State CM Inspected Livestock Breeding Farms

With the aims at protecting from depletion of fish species and sustainability of the fish varieties, development of fish production, food security regarding fish resources for the local people and the socio-economic life of the people, the event of adding fingerlings produced by Chaungsone and Thaton hatcheries was held at Maha Kantawgyi  in Chaungsone Township in the morning on July 6.

The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun, state ministers, state advocate general, state district and township level departmental officials and responsible persons. Next, the head of Mon State Fisheries Department U Tun Tun Win clarified regarding with adding fingerlings and the chief minister gave necessary instruction.

Then, the chief minister and attendees added a total of 100,000 fingerlings into the Maha Kantawgyi. In the Mon State during 2022-2023 fiscal year, a total of 1.5 million fingerlings has been added into the natural rivers, creeks, dams and lakes, it’s learnt.

From there, the chief minister and party visited broiler chicken farm and pig breeding farm owned by U Aye Ko and the director of Mon State Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department Dr. Ni Ni Maw clarified the status of livestock breeding sector in Mon State and the chief minister inspected producing natural fertilizer with the waste of breeding farms and coordinated necessaries.
