Efforts for Rakhine State: Depot and multi-purpose building opened in Sittwe

Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr. Aung Kyaw Min on Sunday attended the opening of the State Red Cross Society depot and multi-purpose building in Sittwe.

In his opening speech, the Chief Minister said that the depot and building would bring benefits to the locals by storing supplies, offering training and holding meetings.

He also expressed words of thanks to donors and concerned officials for their efforts for the depot and building. During the event, the Rakhine State Government donated over 2.5 million Kyats to the State Red Cross Society.

It’s reported that this depot and building can store emergency supplies for over 1,500 households. This 64.3 feet long, 82.35 feet wide and 31.16 feet high 2-storey depot and building was constructed at the cost of over 1,278 million Kyats by the Government of New Zealand and Myanmar Red Cross Society.
