Tourism Development: Measures for promoting tourism sector discussed

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung discussed measures for promoting tourism sector at a meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The Union Minister said the international commercial flights have been granted operation since April 17th and e-Visa service was also allowed on 20th May. At present, 11 international airlines are operating 15 air routes, and passengers from 47 countries are visiting the country.

With the gradually increase of tourists, it is important to provide necessary information for the convenience of their tour. The Union Minister urged officials to make cooperative efforts for timely provision of the accurate information through coordination among the concerned departments.

It was followed by the general round of discussions on the implementation of Guest List Management System, safety measures for tourists and development of tourism sector.
