Press Conference: SAC Information Team Held Press Briefing

The Information Team of the State Administration Council held the press conference at the Ministry of Information on Thursday.

Leader of the Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the SAC announcement to welcome the organizations including PDF if they enter the legal fold for their normal civilian lives by surrendering their weapons following rules and regulations to participate in future work plans of the country.

A total of 38 returnees have been accepted so far, and more are expected to return to the normal civilian lives. The Maj-Gen also explained the ongoing progress of peace process, and the invitation to the EAOs for peace talk was also extended till June 30th. He urged all EAOs to take part in the process for the interest of their national races and region as well as for the nation.

For inviting the teachers who are away from the assigned duties due to various reasons, the Maj-Gen said over 3,100 teachers have contacted to their respective schools. He later mentioned the terrorist acts by the PDF to the teachers, administrative staffs and destructive acts to the education facilities as well as planting of mines which caused injures to the civilians.

Member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo later made explanation on the preparation measures for the upcoming election, including the compiling of voter lists. Then, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, UEC member U Khin Maung Oo and officials replied to queries raised by media.
