The Myanmar Seafarers Federation is undertaking and handling the social welfare and difficulties of the seafarers in Myanmar.

The Federation is acting quickly to protect the welfare of seafarers in need and solving the experienced difficulties of their families.

Chairman, Myanmar Seafarers Federation, Capt. Soe Min Aung said "We support and help the existing members as well as non-member and their families. We accepted nearly 140 cases and 30 cases out of the 140 are still being solved. So, we have already solved more than 100 problems."

Myanmar Seafarers Federation is managing funding to run operations for seafarers in Myanmar. Currently, the Federation is asking the microfinance companies if they are able to give loans to seafarers who faced financial difficulties.

Chairman, Myanmar Seafarers Federation, Capt. Soe Min Aung said "One of those companies has responded that they accept that option. Our federation wants that microfinance company to make conference about how to arrange loan issue for seafarers. That company said they’d arrange not only for financial difficulties but also for business ventures. So, it’s a beneficial process for the seafarers in Myanmar."

The current chairman is responsible for the Federation from 2020 to 2022, and the selection of a new chairman will take place this year 2022.
