Plant Biotechnology: Central Dept. producing saplings for growers

As the biotechnology has been developing across the world, people use biotechnology to produce genetically identical saplings which are also free of diseases by culturing the tissue.

Staff Officer, Plant Biotechnology Central Department, Nan Moe Aye said "This is laminar flow workstation where we produce plant tissue. As the workstation is sterilized, the workers have to wear the specific uniforms properly. As there are many growers in Chin State who plant Konjac to sell, we produce Konjac saplings to meet the need of the growers. We produce green chiretta aiming to use it in some treatments of Covid-19. We also produce Brazil banana saplings as many growers plant banana in the rainy season and some rare species of orchid."

The tissue bottles must be kept in a room with the specific temperature level to culture them. It’s needed to adjust the light of the room to produce the healthy saplings. It’s learnt that growers can contact the plant biotechnology central department to culture the plants which are rare or hard to grow.
