





The athletes from Myanmar Paralympics Sport Federation in Dagon Myothit (North) Township are preparing to participate in the 11th ASEAN Para Games to be hosted by Indonesia.
From 30th July to 6th August, Myanmar athletes will compete with 7 kinds of sports in the 11th ASEAN Para Games.
Vice Chairman, Myanmar Paralympics Sport Federation, Myo Nyunt said "In 7 kinds of paralympic sports, paralympic athletics and paralympics swimming are individual games that can definitely earn gold, silver and bronze medals. The rest of games are grouping games and also sitting volleyball. Myanmar Paralympic volleyball team always win gold medal, and in the 9thASEAN Para Games,the Myanmar Paralympics Team won 11 gold medals."
According to the official of Myanmar Paralympics Sport Federation, medical care is being provided for the athletes.
Vice Chairman, Myanmar Paralympics Sport Federation, Thin Thin Naing said "When competing in the para sports, paralympic athletes cannot compete like other normal people. They have to compete according to the category of the disability. To compete in the international games, firstly,they check and review the athletes’ category of disability. To participate in para sports, athletes are tested on how to compete in each category in addition to the qualification test."
69 athletes have been selected for the 7 kinds of sports in the upcoming ASEAN Para Games, and they are being conducted training by 21 coaches to bring honour to the nation.
