Death Sentence: Legal actions on PhyoZeyar Thaw, Jimmy

NUG member terrorist MaungKyaw (aka) PhyoZeyar Thaw was arrested with two Sig Sauer pistols, 48 9mm bullets, one M-16 rifle and bullets at the YadanaHninsi Housing, in Dagon Seikkan Township on 18 November 2021.

According to his confession, the police raided his houses located in Thingangyun Township and seized a total of 178 guns and explosives.

According to the confession of MaungKyaw (aka) PhyoZeyar Thaw, a total of 293 suspects 247 males and 46 females-who are conducting terrorist attacks in the Yangon Region were arrested together with arms and ammunition, grenades, homemade bombs, smoke bombs, other explosive-related materials, satellite phones, laptops, hard disk, ATM cards, passports, lists to launch bomb attacks and commit murders in Yangon Region and stimulant tablets. Terrorists committed terrorist acts in Yangon Region according to the instructions of MaungKyaw (aka) PhyoZeyar Thaw and 21 people-nine security members and 12 innocent civilians were killed and 14 others injured. Therefore, MaungKyaw (aka) PhyoZeyar Thaw was taken action under the Counter-Terrorism Law Section 49 (a), 50 (i) and 50 (j) for instructing to commit murders and terrorist acts in Yangon Region and colluding with terrorist groups NUG/CRPH/NUCC. He kept the arms and ammunition at houses, for CRPH, NUG and PDF which were declared terrorist groups with Order No (2/2021) of the Anti-Terrorism Central Committee of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, launched bomb attacks in Yangon by leading 20 terrorist groups, instructed to attack security outposts, police stations, departmental offices and stations, kill the innocent civilians, and so the Martial Law tribunal was organized on 21 January 2022 and ordered the death sentence under the Counter-Terrorism Law Section 49 (a), 50 (i) and 50 (j). Likewise, Kyaw Min Yu (a) Jimmy, the former 88 generation’s Public Relations Officer for Peace and Open Society, the current political and security adviser of the terrorist CRPH/NUG, who assassinated innocent people, security forces and government employees, and perpetrated bombings in order to disturb the peace and stability of the country, was arrested on the morning of 24 October 2021 at No 109/B in Panglong Housing Estate, No-27 ward, in Dagon Myothit (North) Township.

Together with him, six AK-47 rifles, eight M-16 rifles, two 12-bolt guns, one local-made gun, and 18 magazines, were confiscated from the house. A Martial Law tribunal was set up to investigate the case as defendant Kyaw Min Yu (aka) Jimmy (father U Tin Yu) hid the weapons and ammunition to be used by the CRPH, NUG and PDF terrorist groups, carried out bombings in Yangon Region by leading the Moon Light Operation team, advised for the bombings of checkpoints, police stations, department offices and local battalions, provided financial assistance for NwayOoGantgaw group to buy arms and ammunition, requested the NUG terrorist group to buy a 3D printer that can produce arms worth about US$100 million in collusion with the UMCD, exchanged the US dollars for Myanmar currency several times to fund terrorist activities. Under Section 49 (a), 50 (i) and 50 (j) of the Counter-Terrorism Law, “death penalty” was issued.
