





Deputy Minister for Labour U Win Shein and party met with occupational safety and health officers of the Factories and General Labour Laws Inspection Department (FGLLID) at the Skills Training School in Yankin Township, Yangon on Monday to prevent injuries and occupational diseases in workplaces, to ensure workers’ safety and to increase productivity.
During the meeting, the officials from factories and workplaces which won ASEAN Workplace Safety and Health Network Award recounted their experiences.
Win Thu, Officer, FGLLID, Hlaing Thayar Industrial Zone said "At the meeting, Deputy Minister urged to promote the activities of occupational safety and health committee of Hlaing Thayar industrial zone to ensure the safety of the workers. We also invited the officials from 6 factories which won ASEAN-OSHNET Award including Fame Pharmaceuticals, UPG and Toyo battery to recount their experiences and activities."
Zaw Win, Manager, UPG Paint & Coating Co., Ltd said "We won AEAN-OSHNET Award 2018 as our factory met the standards set by the Ministry of Labour. During the meeting, I explained about our occupational health and safety activities and experiences of the ASEAN Workplace Safety and Health Network Award competition."
The 4th ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network Award Ceremony will be held in September in Myanmar and the Outstanding Achievement Award and Good Practice Awards will be awarded to selected factories and workplaces.
