Honouring Ceremony: Ministry of Home Affairs honours coaches, sportspersons

Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday honored the coaches and sports persons from its ministry who won medals at the 31st SEA Games.

This honouring ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw was attended by member of the State Administration Council Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut and many other officials.

48 coaches and sports persons who competed in the 12 sports events and earned 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in 5 sports events were honoured with certificates of honour and cash prizes.

In the 31st SEA Games hosted by Vietnam, the Myanmar team finished seventh in the national championships, competing in 21 sports events (international boat race and canoe/kayak separately), winning in 16.

The Myanmar sports teams earned nine gold medals, 18 silver medals and 35 bronze medals in total.
