


The urea fertilizer will be distributed to the farmers across the nation starting the second week of June, according to the Urea Fertilizer Purchase and Distribution Committee Chairman Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe.
The Union Minister added that the urea fertilizer was sold at the fertilizer shops in regions and states as of 3 June and will be distributed to farmers between 7 and 15 June, during an online meeting.
A total of 60,188 tonnes of urea fertilizer docked at Yangon jetty was imported by Consortium and Myanmar Rice Federation in the first batch. The MRF will sell it on 6 June and negotiate with companies to import more urea fertilizers.
They also arrange to transport the fertilizer through road and sea routes. The price of urea fertilizer is K86,000 per bag in the Yangon market and the price ranges from K87,800 to K89,400 depending on the transport charges.
In some townships of the Yangon Region, the price of fertilizer ranges between K92,000 and K95,000 per bag and buyers can save more than K10,000.
