Queen Bees Hatching: Apiculture Division Organizes The Competition

Marking the World Bee Day, the Apiculture Division of Department of Livestock and Veterinary organized Queen Bees hatching competition at the mango farm in Sintgaing Township, Mandalay Region.

The Regional In-charge of Mandalay Region Apiculture Division explained about the aim of holding the competition and the Sagaing Region In-charge also explained the contest rules and marking scheme to the participants.

Win Aung, Deputy Director, Mandalay Region Apiculture Division said “Queen Bee egg hatching skill competition is held in commemoration of the World Bee Day. It’s aimed for breeding and distributing new generation of queen bees for the private sector development, making preparations for queen bees import to foreign countries when we are granted import permission and emerging skilled workers for beekeeping.”

Regional In-charges from Mandalay, Sagaing and Yangon Regions, officials from Sintgaing Township Apiculture Division, KyaukPadaung, PyinOoLwin and PatheinGyi Townships and the participants attended the event.
