American tourists airlifted to Florida from Bahamas

Bahamas authorities said that American tourist Donnis Chiarella, who has been airlifted to a Florida hospital after falling ill in the Bahamas, remains in serious condition.

During a press briefing on Monday, police commissioner of the Bahamas, Paul Rolle also said samples extracted from three American tourists who recently died at a resort in Exuma were sent to a lab in the United States to expedite the results and help authorities understand what happened.

Their bodies were found Friday morning at the Sandals Emerald Bay resort in Exuma. The Bahamas' Department of Environmental Health and police officers are still on the scene at the resort.
