Memorial held in Athens to mark Victory Day

Crowds gathered in the Greek capital Athens on Monday for a memorial event marking the 77th anniversary of the Soviet Army's role in the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

Hundreds of Russians living in Greece and ethnic Greeks who were born in the former Soviet Union, gathered at a monument dedicated to fallen Soviet soldiers.

They held pictures of relatives killed during the war, and waved Soviet Union and Russian flags.
