Agriculture Sector: Efforts for 2022-2023 monsoon paddy season

Efforts are being made to get healthy soil for the 2022-2023 monsoon paddy season in Ayeyawaddy Region.

In SeSoneKone Village-tract in Yaykyi Township of Pathein District, Ayeyawaddy Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and many other officials provided green manure seeds to 56 farmers on Sunday.

There, they also participated in the green manure growing. Advantages of green manure are preventing leaching and erosions, providing nutrients and organic matter to the soil, providing habitat for natural predators, providing habitat for pollinators, improving the soil’s structure, supporting beneficial microbes and soil organisms and interrupting pest lifecycles and diseases.
