





40 new tutors and demonstrators have been appointed for the Yangon University of Education. A Welcoming Ceremony for newly-appointed tutors & demonstrators took place at the Seminar Room of the University on 6th May.
The Rector of the University gave an opening speech, followed by the welcoming speeches of the Pro-Rectors, the professors and Heads of Departments respectively.
Rector, Yangon University of Education, Dr. Kay Thwe Hlaing said "We are holding a welcoming ceremony for newly-appointed tutors & demonstrators. These are the teachers who had applied for the tutor/demonstrator position since last 2 months. We have received many applicants. We made scrutinization according to their academic scores, and made selection according to the vacant positions."
13 major subjects are being lectured at Yangon University of Education, such as English, History, Physics, Math, Chemistry, and so on. A training will be provided to the newly-appointed tutors and demonstrators on their respective subjects and related knowledge. There will also be scholarship programs available to apply after 2 years of service.
Rector, Yangon University of Education, Dr. Kay Thwe Hlaing said "We have planned to give them teachers’ training too. From this university, they will learn how to become a quality-teacher in accordance to their respective academic subjects. When they become quality-teachers, they can raise quality-students. It is important for them to become quality-teachers because the students applying to this university usually achieve high marks in their matriculation exam. Moreover, we will also give training to them about the rules and regulations for civil servants which they need to follow. Then, they can become outstanding teachers in the future."
The new tutors & demonstrators have to start working on 12th May, and 15 of them will have to go to the Central Institute for Civil Service (Lower Myanmar) in Phaunggyi.
