



While the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia ERIA is designing the assessment paper to gear up the implementation of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP), to acquire the comments and suggestions regarding the status of implementation in Myanmar, the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia ERIA held a talk with the government and private representatives in the morning on May 6 via Video Conferencing and the Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung gave an opening remark.
In his opening remark, the Union Minister said that the ASEAN ministers for tourism signed in 2012 to implement the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals. Regarding the implementation of ASEAN MRA-TP, the national level Tourism Professionals group and the board to issue the certificate of tourism professionals which are the basic parts of ASEAN MRA-TP have been formed.
In addition, with the collaboration of the relevant ministries and private entrepreneurs, 17 ASEAN Master Trainers, 17 ASEAN Master Assessors and 518 National Trainers and 112 National Assessors have been turned out.
All the attendeed are urged to give the necessary advices to facilitate effectively in the implementation of ASEAN MRA-TP.
Next, the senior economic consultant of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia ERIA Dr. Aladdin Rillo gave a key remark and clarified the background data of current assessment and the status of initial findings from the assessment.
