Visit to Cocokyun: VSG Met Tatmadawmen And Families Of Local Battalion

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win met with the officers, other ranks and families in Cocokyun on Thursday.  The Vice-Senior General said Tatmadaw members in far-flung areas have to live in unison inside and outside the military units to prevent terror dangers.

He added that the government allotted budget for the infrastructures for Tatmadaw members and families, and urged them to maintain the structures for long-term existence systematically.

He stressed that Tatmadaw members must always take training for discharging the State defence duty at full capacity. The Vice-Senior General later presented foodstuffs to the Tatmadawmen and families through officials. Earlier in the day, the Vice-Senior General visited aboard the sea-going hospital vessel (Thanlwin), and comforted the residents of Cocokyun receiving medical treatment.

The hospital vessel has been giving medical treatment to local people in Cocokyun since the 4th of May, so far, 680 patients have received medical treatments.

The Vice-Senior General later visited the coconut and coconut product industry of local battalion, and viewed the production of coconut oil, decoration and household utensil and coir rope. He gave instructions on the need to produce the coconut products on a commercial scale in cooperation with the Small-Scale Industry Department under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development. He then inspected the livestock breeding farm and thriving seasonal crops plantations.
