
Myanmar Delegation led by Union Minister for International Cooperation and Chairman of the Task Force to facilitate the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre U Ko Ko Hlaing departed for Phnom Penh via Bangkok on 5 May to attend the Consultative Meeting upon the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhoon.
The Consultative Meeting will be held with an aim to convene high-level platform to enhance the delivery of Phase-II humanitarian assistance to Myanmar, and to achieve a common understanding and explore the possibility of providing more assistance to Myanmar within the framework of ASEAN arrangement.
At the OCHA’s request, the Union Minister received a courtesy call by the delegation led by Ms. Joyce Msuya, OCHA’s Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh. The Meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers and the relevant officials for the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.
