



A ceremony to mark the 76th Myanmar Fire Services Day took place on the 5th of May 2022 at the Dekkhina District Fire Station.
Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Maung Maung Naing and many other officials as well as members of the Myanmar Fire Services Department attended the ceremony in Dekkhinathiri Township. In his speech, the Chairman praised the important role of the Fire Services Department and urged the members of the Department to continuously apply bracing, firefighting and rescue and review and also practice to sharpen the skills. He also stressed the importance of firefighting and rescue drill.
There has been evidence of Myanmar’s fire preventive activities since the Bagan Dynasty. Due to their efforts, members of the Fire Services Department are being honoured with honourary titles and medals.
The Chairman also highlighted the Myanmar Fire Safety Code 2020 enacted on the 30th of December 2020. The Myanmar Fire Services Department needs to be maintained by balancing the Men Power, Equipment Power and Technological Power, he added.
This ceremony included presenting awards and certificates of honour to the best fire station and members of the Fire Services Department who showed good performance during trainings and who strictly follow the ethics as well as to members of the auxiliary brigade who are aged above 25 actively giving help to the Department and to members who did the most blood donation times.
Myanmar Fire Service Day was designated on 5 May 1946 to commemorate the establishment date of the Myanmar Fire Brigade. Myanmar marks Fire Services Day every year.
