Illegal Trade: Illegal Items Worth Over 215 Million Kyats Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 2ndand 3rdof May, undeclared Monosodium Glutamate, consumer goods and electrical products as well as illegal teak logs were seized s at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Checkpoint in Kayin State, at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint in Yangon Region and in Taungoo District of Bago Region.

In total, illegal items worth over 215 million Kyats were seized on the 2ndand 3rdof May. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
