







Organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, 2022 Summer Sport Training was opened in conjunction with awareness talks on Youth Affairs at Thuwanna National Indoor Stadium in Yangon on 1st May.
The training is conducted to help young people to spend usefully their summer holidays by learning sports in a systematic way and to nurture qualified youth athletes for the nation through mass sports activities.
Htay Aung, Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education said "Jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and Myanmar Sports Federations, the summer sport trainings are provided annually for the young people to be healthy and fit by enjoying sports and also to emerge new generation athletes. There were about 15,000 trainees for 31 courses until 2019 but we were not able to conduct the trainings in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. We will organize the trainings with 20 courses and 1,500 trainees this year."
Such kind of summer sports trainings will be opened at the sports federations from 1st to 31st May. The completion certificates will be presented to the trainees and after this course, the trainees can attend the advanced summer training courses according to their interests.
