Harris holds talks with 15 Caribbean leaders

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris met virtually with more than a dozen Caribbean leaders to talk about recovering economically from the pandemic, strengthening security, and addressing the climate crisis Friday.

She said that being the neighbors, thier partnership is key to the shared prosperity and security. The countries that took part in the meeting included Haiti, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago and many others.

Harris said economic recovery in the wake of the pandemic has been "uneven." She called the climate crisis an "existential threat," saying the world's emissions "have outsized impacts on the Caribbean."
