


After easing Covid-19 rules depending on the condition of the infection, preparations are underway to resume the local hotel industry. About 70 hotels in Yangon region are prepared to reopen.
The international airlines that have been temporarily closed due to Covid-19 pandemic have resumed their operations on 17th April. Currently, preparations are made for the hotel industry to run in accordance with the rules.
These hotels have already applied the national level and the hotel staffs have already attended Covid-19 saleservice trainings to provide good services to the customers.
NandaAung, Regional Head, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism said “We already checked 70 hotels in the cooperation with the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism and the Regional Health Department. According to the policy, these hotels will have to register from regional to national level. All hotel staffs must be fully vaccinated and already attended covid-19 sale service training.”
The procedures are prepared with the instruction of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism with the cooperation of Yangon Region Government and its relevant organizations. It will be a move in order to revitalize the suspended Myanmar tourism industry and to return this sector into normalcy.
Thein Win, Vice President, Myanmar Hotelier Association said “Arrangements have been made to transport passengers safely from the airport to hotel and to isolate themselves in case of Covid-19 pandemic. Measures are being done in cooperation with the government and private sector to be convenient for the guests and to accommodate more guests in the hotels.”
Tint Lwin, General Manager, The Sun Hotel said “The guests need to show proof of vaccination documents and must have NRC card also. We accept the short-term hotel rental guests who have vaccination card. To reduce virus infection, we take the process of cleaning and spraying disinfectants the things from arrival guests.”
If the hotels get the regional level, can register for national level through online. To support booming of the tourism industry again, preparations are made to accommodate the guests who come with commercial flight in the national level hotels.
