Education Sector: Basic education exams results released

The basic education primary level, middle level and high level (till Grade 10) exams results for the 2021-2022 academic year were released on Sunday, April 24. For the 2021-2022 academic year, basic education students sat for their exams from the 17th to the 23rd of March this year.

Since early October, the Ministry of Health vaccinated students of basic education middle and high schools, monastic schools and private schools who have enrolled for 2021-2022 academic year to grab their learning opportunities.

Parent (Tutkone Township), Myint Pe said "My daughter passed her exam – she sat for the Grade-3 exam. No matter what the situation is … students have to sit for their exams, I think. It’s for their future. As far as I know, teaching method is good."

The basic education middle and high schools reopened on the 1st of November, 2021. The basic education schools (including private schools and monastic education schools) were closed temporarily as of the 9th of July, 2021 in order to control and prevent the spreading of COVID-19 infection in time.

Ya Min Aung said "I sat for the Grade-6 exam – I tried my best and I passed. I prefer the new curriculum –it include practical lessons. I will keep trying."

Htet Aung Khant said "I sat for the Grade-4 exam. Since kindergarten, I’ve been in the new curriculum, so, no many difficulties for me yet. My dream is to be an engineer."

It’s learnt that the Ministry of Education will start basic education schools' student enrollment for the new academic year on May 25 and the basic education schools across the country will reopen for the new academic year on June 2.
