Agriculture Sector: To completely apply mechanized farming: Union Minister

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo presided over a meeting on the mechanized farming.

In the meeting at the Ministry, the Union Minister stressed the need to completely apply the mechanized farming for food sufficiency and due to climate change and decrease of manual labour.

He also called for efforts to invent suitable machinery with the country’s farmlands, conduct training for farmers and growers regarding the use of machinery and maintenance.

This meeting continued with Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Kyi and many other officials making sector-wide discussion.

Mechanized agriculture is the process of using agricultural machinery to mechanize the work of agriculture, greatly increasing farm worker productivity. 

Mechanization encourages large scale production and sometimes can improve the quality of farm produce.
