Industrial fire fills Texas sky with smoke, flames

Smoke could be seen for miles as a business along Interstate 20 in Midland County, Texas, caught fire Wednesday evening. Law enforcement officials sealed off the area and evacuated local businesses and an RV park.

Midland County Emergency Management Coordinator Justin Bunch says the cause of the fire at swimming pools maker Viking Pools has yet to be determined, but is expected to be accidental.

Employees had left Viking Pools at 5 p.m. and the fire broke hour after that. No injuries were reported. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality was called to the scene due to possible toxic smoke in the area.
