Statement on Peace: Office of C-in-CDS issued a statement on peace

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services issued a statement on Peace on 22 April 2022.

The statement reads…The Tatmadaw has ceased the fire until the end of 2022, leading to the enduring peace that the entire people are longing for.

The State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services said that the upcoming 4 January 2023 is Diamond Jubilee Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Measures will be conducted to end the armed conflicts across the nation. Moreover, leaders of ethnic armed organizations are also invited to discuss frankly in-person to effectively and practically conduct peace processes.

During the invitation period for peace talks and in the progress of talks, ethnic armed organizations should not make activities that can affect peace, such as recruitment, operations, land expansion and attacks on bases and headquarters of security members who are serving duties for security and the rule of law. If they do so, the Tatmadaw will take necessary actions in response to the attacks.
