2.8 tons of cocaine seized by police in Ecuador

Ecuadorian authorities announced the seizure of some 2.8 tons of cocaine with an estimated worth of 92 million USD at the port of Guayaquil.

One suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure of the shipment, which was destined for Antwerp, Belgium.

Ecuador is a drug transit country neighboring Colombia and Peru, two of the largest cocaine producers in the world.
