Zelenskyy hands over completed EU questionnaire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed over a completed European Union (EU) questionnaire on its application for membership to the bloc, to the EU envoy in Kyiv.

Zelenskyy formally submitted the questionnaire to the EU's Ambassador to Ukraine and said it was the first step in his campaign to obtain accelerated membership to the EU. 

The questionnaire was delivered to Zelenskyy in early April by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. She said a decision on whether Ukraine would be considered a candidate could come within weeks.
