Police: 12 injured in South Carolina mall shooting

14 people were injured in a shooting at a shopping mall in the capital of the US state of South Carolina on Saturday that authorities do not believe was a random attack.

Three people who had firearms were detained in connection with the attack at Columbiana Centre, Columbia Police Chief said.

Authorities said no fatalities have been reported but that nine people were shot and five people suffered injuries while attempting to flee the mall for safety. The victims ranged in age from 15 to 73.
