Vessel brings rescued migrants into Sicily port

210 migrants aboard the NGO ship Seawatch 3 arrived in Sicily on Saturday morning. They reached the port of Trapani, following five rescue operations last week within the southern Mediterranean Sea.

The migrants were expected to undergo registration and medical examination by the Italian Coast Guard. They would then be transferred on board a quarantine ship named Augusta, also at harbour at Trapani.

Trapani has been designated a safe port for the arrival of undocumented migrants by health emergency agencies.
