Religious Ceremony: Prime Minister And Wife Donate Alms Food To Sayadaws

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife DawKyuKyuHla offered day meals or soon to religious title recipient Sayadaws for 2022 at the SasanaBeikman in the Uppatasanti Pa­goda compound in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday morning.

Chairman of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of Mandalay’s Bhamo Monastery DrBhaddanta Kuma­ra Bhivamsa, Secretary of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of Than­lyin’sMinkyaungPahtamabyan Buddhist Learning Centre DrBhadd­antaCandimaBhivamsa, title recipient Sayad­aws and nuns, SAC members, Union ministers and officials graced the ceremony. Before the ceremony, the Prime Minister offered alms food, fruits, flowers, water and lights to the Buddha Image in the SasanaBeikman.

At the ceremony, the congregation led by the Prime Minister and wife received the Five Precepts from the Chairman of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee BhamoSayadaw and listened to religious sermons from the sanghas. The Prime Minister and wife donated offertories and alms food to the BhamoSayadaw. 

Vice Chairman of SAC, Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife offered alms food to Thanlyin Min KyaungSayadaw and the Council members and departmental heads donated to title recipient Sayadaws. Later, the wives of the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister donated offertories and day meals to the title recipient nuns. Later, the ThanlyinMink­yaungSayadaw delivered a ser­mon, followed by sharing merits gained.
