Extraction Of Pearls: Union Minister Inspects Pearl Farming Camps In Tanintharyi

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U KhinMaung Yi held meeting with the staffs at the Forest Department in Kawthaung, Taninthayi Region on Monday morning.
At the meeting, the Union Minister called for making efforts to establish reserved and protected forest areas, and national parks in a timely manner for the conservation of forests and biodiversity.The Union Miniter then looked into Nam Khone Oyster Finished Product industry in Kawthaung and coordinated the needs.
On 13th March, the Union Minister together with Taninthayi Region Natural Resources Minister and officials visited Pale Island camp in Boke Pyin township.
After hearing the reports of official,  the Union Minister called for plans to produce gold and silver colour pearls in long term, conducting research to obtain high-quality pearls, more production of pearls and striving for penetrating into the international market more than present.
The Union Minister then met with the staff and their families and fulfilled the needs. He then looked into pearl production processes in the Pale Island Camp. He later inspected Lampi Marine National Park in Boke Pyin Township amd met with villagers in Ma Kyone Galat Salon village.
There, he presented rice, cooking oil, beans and exercise books for the locals and called for conserving forests and trees as well as natural environment. He then proceeded to Gya Lan and Nga Lone La Phe island Pearl Farming Camps in Kawthaung township and inspected breeding of oysters and pearl extraction as well as oyster farming with surface long line system in Shwe Kyun Pale Camp and St. Luke island pearl Camp.
