COVID-19 Update: 1,401 New Cases with 3 Deaths Reported On March 8

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures. The Ministry reported 1,401 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing 20,143 lab specimens within 24 hours. 3 patients have died due to the disease while 1,729 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 601,020 with 19,394deaths and 550,882 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Islamic Republic of Iran, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:31pm CET, 8 March 2022, there have been over 446.51 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.004 million deaths.
