Angelina Jolie arrives in Yemen to meet families affected by conflict

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie arrived in Yemen, Sunday to meet families affected by the seven-year conflict there.

Jolie who is Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees since 2012, will be visiting Yemini families, including those displaced and refugees, to hear how their lives have been dramatically changed by the conflict.

UNHCR hopes Jolie's visit will draw attention to the increasing humanitarian needs in Yemen, ahead of the annual High-Level Pledging Conference for Yemen on 16 March.

The Hollywood actor previously represented UNHCR as a Goodwill Ambassador from 2001-2012. As Special Envoy, Jolie has in recent years made visits to refugee camps on the Colombia-Venezuela border, Burkina Faso and, among others.
