Yemen tensions escalate as Houthi attacks target Aden airport

Yemen's Houthis launched ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones at Aden International Airport on Wednesday, forcing Saudi authorities to cancel a flight from Cairo and divert it to Jeddah.

The strike follows intense recent fighting after Houthi advances along the Red Sea coast and a counteroffensive launched by the Yemeni government and the Presidential Leadership Council to reclaim territory around the Bab al-Mandab Strait and advance toward Sanaa.

The Houthis claimed attacks targeting airports and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia while the Saudi coalition has heavily bombed Houthi strongholds in Sanaa and surrounding governorates.
