Mexico's top-division soccer league - Liga MX - suspended all matches scheduled for Sunday after a massive brawl among fans during Saturday's match between the home team Queretaro and champions Atlas from Guadalajara.

The game was suspended in the 62nd minute when fighting broke out in the stands. The fighting then spilled out onto the pitch itself, where fans continued to brawl and some were armed with chairs and metal bars.

Security personnel opened the gates to the field so that other fans, which included women and children, could escape the brawl.

Queretaro Governor condemned the violence and said the owners of the Liga MX club would have to answer for what happened. 23 people were injured in the violence, three seriously.
