Pan Khin Project: Union territory Exceeded Target with over 107%

Union Territory (Nay Pyi Taw) has completed cent percent of its target for Pan Khin Project with the issuance of National Registration Cards to more than 67,000 citizens.

The ceremony to mark the success of the project was held in Nay Pyi Taw on 4th March. Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Ye expressed thanks for all the cooperative efforts of the local authorities, related organizations, ward and village administrators and local people.

The Union Minister said the NRC cards issuing process has to be carried out constantly to those 18 years of age citizens, and he urged all to continue cooperation in implementing the e-ID system, being implemented by the Ministry. Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Maung Maung Naing also expressed thanks to the departmental personnel for successful implementation of the tasks.

The Union Minister and officials later presented the certificates of honour to the officials and the staffs were also promoted to the senior position. There are 2 districts, 8 townships, 58 wards, 187 village-tract and 796 villages in the Union Territory (Nay Pyi Taw).

Target has been made to issue NRC cards to over 62,000 citizens, and so far, over 67,000 NRC cards have been issued, exceeding the target with over 107%. Pan Khin Project has been carried out for the eligible voters to cast vote in the upcoming elections as they need to have NRC card in hand.

Among the electoral fraud of over 11 million during 2020 elections, more than 4 million have casted vote without NRC cards. The project period is 18 months from May 2021 to November 2022. Bago and Ayeyawady Regions have already completed its targets cent percent.
